Meet Lija Vondrak.

    Lija grew up and got her education in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Rich in culture and history, it is the source of her inspiration. St. Petersburg was planed and designed, by Peter The Great, it was built like a museum under the open sky. Magnificent palaces, majestic churches and bridges, opulent buildings with beautiful detailed décor inform an understanding of style and harmony.

    In 2002, Lija completed a 6-year study of art classes that taught watercolor, acrylic, gauche and grisaille, painting as well as drawing. Copying the masterpieces of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci was a part of her school program. Admission to St.Petersburg's Art Academy for a degree in interior design, furniture and fashion requires students to be able to pass exams in painting and drawing. Her interests leaned toward interior perspectives and architectural elements.

     While being a student at St. Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design for 6 years, Lija also worked as a textile décor designer, creating window treatments, bedding, and upholstery for her clients. In 2008, after receiving her degree in “Design of Interior and Equipment”, Lija focused on residential and public interiors and renovation projects. She worked on visualization, floor plans and technical blueprints, furniture, materials, accessory selection, as well as communications with the contractor.

       In 2009, Lija became a leading designer of Interior Textile Department in St. Petersburg “Ampir-Décor Company”. She had a chance to work with the best high quality fabric brands from Europe and USA. It was a very creative and interesting experience - transforming hundreds of rooms with functional and unique textile décor for her clients. 

Lija was a leading designer of her company’s key projects:

· In 2010, she designed a window treatment for 4 main Meeting Rooms and the Office in a Mansion-House of the President of Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow.

· In 2013, Lija designed window treatments and wall upholsteries for 20 VIP Cottages in Konstantine Palace, Strelna, Russia, where country leaders of G20 lodged. 

· In 2013 Lija made the selection of textile wallpaper for the Russian Prime Minister’s country house.

Lija married Christopher Vondrak and moved to Nashville, TN in 2015. In 2017 Lija and Christopher welcomed their baby boy Benjamin.  

Now she is starting a new chapter with in carrier in Nashville bringing experience and professionalism and creating unique, elegant and comfortable homes and businesses.
